Rayagada: No decisions could be taken to resolve the protests in front of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) plant at Therubali in Rayagada as the meeting between the company officials, district administration and a group of 30 agitators led by Jitu Jakasika ended inconclusively today.

While the district collector & agitators informed that the junior employees of IMFA present in the meeting could not arrive at a decision, company officials informed that they will discuss the demands of protestors with their superiors.

"The company officials couldn't take any decision and give a written confirmation during the meeting from 4 PM till 10 PM. The meeting was a complete failure and our protests will continue and we want to discuss the matter with higher authorities of the company," said Jitu Jakasika.

"The company officials who had come to the meeting were very junior-level officers and they didn't have any authorisation to take any spot decision. Because of these factors, today's meeting was fruitless. We are trying to arrange another meeting at the earliest," said Rayagada Collector, Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar.

"We have told them that we will do some planning and decide. The agitators have been seeking immediate decision, which is why today's meeting was stopped," said Senior GM of IMFA, KV Rao.
