Under trial prisoner dies at Balangir jail

Balangir: An under trial prisoner died at Balangir jail late on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Satya Mallick of Dhumamara village.

According to sources, Mallick was admitted to Balangir district headquarters hospital after he fell ill last night. However, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, family members of Mallick alleged medical negligence as the main reason behind the death.
