Under-construction bridge in Ganjam collapses

Ganjam: An underconstruction bridge over Badanala in Antarpada Panchayat under Buguda block of the district collapsed today.  However, no casualties were reported in the incident.

A project of the Rural Development department, the bridge over Badanala on Jholari-Manikpur road had its slab work completed on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Executive Engineer of the Rural Development Department has ordered a probe into the collapse of the bridge and said reconstruction work of the bridge will soon begin.

SN Behera, Executive Engineer, Ganjam-I said, "We can not say anything about the incident. The concerned contractor would bear all the expenses and reconstruct the bridge."
