Puri: Two youths went missing while taking bath in Puri beach today.

According to sources, the youths have been identified as Akash Khakka and Jadumani Sekhar Bachha, both residents of western Odisha who came to play a cricket match in Bhubaneswar.

Both of them along with six others visited Puri today morning. All of them were bathing in the beach near Chaitanya Chowk when four of them went missing.

Rescue guards and ODRAF personnel present on the beach launched a search operation and rescued two of them while two others are yet to be traced.

Hritik Jain, one of the youths who was rescued by the life guards said "Since we did not have any match today we came to Puri and had darshan of Lord Jagannath and at around 1 pm we visited the beach to have fun and take photographs. While bathing, four of us were swept away by a strong current. But fortunately two of us did not go deeper and were rescued."
