Khurda: The Union Government has planned to establish two skill development centres in Khurda district at the cost of Rs 1,000 crore, informed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

While one skill development institute will be set up near the foothills of Barunei at the cost of Rs 500 crore, a branch of the Indian Institute of Skills will be opened by the Skill Development Ministry at the NISER.

"The two institutes of international standards will help to impart skill trainings to Odia youth," said Pradhan on the sidelines of the State-level Livelihood and Skill Development Fair in Khurda.

Nearly, 3,000 candidates and 45 companies had participated in the fair. Besides, the Union Minister handed over appointment letters to 1,000 candidates recruited by several companies.
