Two school kids killed as truck overturns, falls on them

Sambalpur: Two school children died and two others sustained critical injuries when a truck overturned and fell on them on NH-55 near Rairakhol in Sambalpur district today.

Sources said the incident occurred at around 10.45 am, when the kids were returning from school and a pipe-laden truck turned turtle and fell on them. While two died on the spot, the injured  were rushed to the Rairakhol Sub-Divisional Hospital. The deceased duo, reportedly brother and sister, were Class 9 and Class 10 students. All the four students belong to the Prabhujee English Medium School.

Soon after the incident, the truck driver fled the spot. It is suspected that the truck driver was drunk and lost control over the vehicle. Search is on to nab the driver, police said.
