Two persons of Ganjam held in Surat loot case

Surat: Two persons of Ganjam district were arrested by the Surat Police today on charges of looting Rs 6.5 lakh from a money transfer office located in Sarsana area on Monday.

On basis of CCTV footage, the cops nabbed the two looters - Prahllada Barik alias Kuna of Kabisuryanagar and Kalicharan of Polasara in Ganjam district. One 9 mm pistol, toy gun and Rs 2.50 lakh were seized from the possession of the two arrested persons.

Surat Crime Branch DCP Vishal Kumar Baghele said five looters had entered the money transfer office on Monday and looted Rs 6.5 lakh at gun point.

Out of the five looters, three were masked whereas two were unmasked making it possible for the police to arrest the duo.

The police official added a manhunt has been launched to nab the other three looters, who are absconding.
