Berhampur: When the fifth and final phase panchayat polls were held across Odisha today, two persons including a sarpanch candidate were killed in poll related violence cases in Ganjam district.

The sarpanch candidate, identified as Bulu Pradhan, died during a group clash at Brahman Sahi under Hinjili police limits of Sheragada block while ten others injured in the poll violence.

While eight of the injured were admitted to the MKCG hospital in Berhampur, two are undergoing treatment at the Hinjili hospital.

Sources said tension is on in the village following the group clash.

Villager Pitambar Swain of Mardakote was killed during a group clash in the area under Kodala police limits late last night.

Two others who have sustained injures in the poll violence have been admitted to a local hospital.
