Ganjam/Jagatsinghpur: Vigilance sleuths Wednesday conducted raids on residences and offices of two government officials- the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Dharakote in Ganjam and an Assistant Engineer of Roads & Building Division in Jagatsinghpur on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.

A three-member team of Berhampur division vigilance simultaneously searched BEO Yudhisthir Dalei's residence at Hinjilicut and office at Dharakote. They also raided his paternal house at Nandiagagada village in Ganjam district and his relative's house at Berhampur.

As per the officials, the total movable and immovable assets have not been ascertained yet as search is still underway.

Similarly, a team of Jagatsighpur division of vigilance led by DSP Biswa Prakash Patnaik conducted raids on houses and offices of Assistant Engineer, R&B Division Ramesh Chandra Mishra.

The anti-corruption officials searched eight places, including his official headquarters, office at Balikuda, in-laws' house at Purohitpur, sister's house at Sanamadal, residence at Jagamara and a rented house in Bhubaneswar.

"Acting on a tip-off against Mishra, our officials conducted simultaneous raids in eight places today," informed Vigilance DSP Patnaik.

However, refuting the charges, Mishra said that the fact will be known after investigation.
