Bhubaneswar: Two-day long Odisha Art and Literature Festival (OALF) 2017 will be inaugurated today at Press Club of Odisha here by eminent poet Jayanta Mahapatra, artist Jatin Das and sculptor Rahgunath Mohapatra.

Eminent and acclaimed writers from Delhi, Mumbai, West Bengal, Kashmir, Bhopal, Bengaluru and Chennai along with 70 writers from different parts of Odisha – Rourkela, Koraput, Cuttack, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Mayurbhanj, Angul – are participating in the sessions scheduled on the topics on music, art and painting, poetry reading in Odia, English and other Indian languages.

Eminent writer Pratibha Ray and social activist Shruti Mohapatra, will take part in a special session to discuss about the literature on mentally and physically challenged people.

Keeping the pan-Indian nature of the festival, Odia and English books shall be released during the function including Ashwini Kumar's 'Banaras & Others’, Sukanya Mohanty's 'Cacophony & Silences’ (Bloomsbury); Harekrishna Deka's 'A Touch of Time' and Sarojkant Mishra's ‘Bou' (both from Dhauli Books).

Noted poet and President of Odisha Sahitya Akademi, Harihar Mishra will grace the valedictory function, informed organiser of the festival Manu Dash.
