Balasore: Two persons were grievously injured in two separate wild bear attacks in Balasore district on Friday.

The first incident occurred in Bania village under Mahinsapata panchayat when a local was going to nearby field for agriculture work. Suddenly he was attacked by a wild bear from behind. The injured was identified as Bhaskar Singh.

The second attack took place near Kathapala Ghagra river bridge when one Ratnakar Swain from Khasapadia village was on way to his company. The incident was even more violent than the first one, as reportedly four bears attacked him injuring him critically.

The duo has reportedly been admitted to Nilagiri Sub-divisional hospital and undergoing treatment, sources said.
