Tusker carcass found in paddy field in Cuttack

Cuttack: The carcass of a tusker was found in a paddy field at Paikerapur village under Khuntuni forest range in Cuttack district today.

According to sources, some locals spotted the carcass of the tusker in a paddy field near Paikorapur and informed the forest officials about it. Getting information, forest officials rushed to the spot and started investigation into the incident.

Forest officials suspect that the elephant, aged around 50 years, might have died during a tussle among a group of elephants. However, the exact reason behind the death of the pachyderm is yet to be established.
