Truck falls off bridge into Mahanadi; driver, helper missing

Paradip: The driver and the helper of a truck are still missing after the vehicle fell off a bridge over Mahanadi river near Bhutamundai in Paradip late last night.

Personnel of the Kujang fire brigade unit and the Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) launched a rescue operation this morning after receiving information. Till last reports were received, both the persons were still missing.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the truck rammed into the concrete barriers of the bridge and tumbled over into the river.

Police have reached the mishap spot and launched a probe into the matter.
