Triangular love affair: Youth beaten to death in Odisha, girl detained

Boudh:  A youth was beaten to death with a digging bar over his involvement in a suspected triangular love affair at Gulugulapadar village under Manmunda police limits of Boudh district today.

The body of the deceased identified as Shantanu Kuanr of the same village was recovered in a pool of blood in a field today.

Villagers alleged that Shantanu had gone to the farmland yesterday night and the girl had also come to meet him. However, Shantanu was found lying dead today morning.

On getting information, police reached to the spot and recovered the body. Police also found a vanity bag from the spot.

According to reports,  Shantanu was in a relationship with the girl.

However, the girl was in love with another youth of nearby village and had earlier eloped with the youth, informed sources. The youth's identity is yet to be established.

Meanwhile, police have detained the girl and interrogating her in connection with the incident.
