Jagatsinghpur/Bhubaneswar: Life of Divyang singer Dilip Sahu has been thrown into disarray after he met with an accident at the Balasore Railway Station.
After finishing his ‘Bhajan’ programme in Balasore, he had gone to the railway station to catch a train to Cuttack from where he would have gone home by bus. But life had something else stored for him as he was run over by a train and has lost his left hand and left leg.
The 32-year-old singer Dilip Sahu, who is undergoing treatment at the KIMS hospital in Bhubaneswar, stated, “I was speaking on mobile when somebody shoved and snatched my mobile phone causing me to slip onto the track and I was run over by the train.”
Teary-eyed Dilip’s mother Shantilata Sahu said, “He used to sing at ‘Bhajan’ programmes. Now after this accident I don’t know how he will sustain himself as we are also getting older.”
Pinning hope on some help from the State government, Dilip’s brother Prashant Sahu said, “We four brothers are daily wage labourers. After this mishap, if the government can lend some help, it would be a great relief for us.”
Meanwhile, the Railway Ministry has directed the Southeast railway Chief Security Commissioner to probe the matter.
