Bhubaneswar: A traffic constable was severely thrashed by a man in full public glare near Ravi Talkies Square in Bhubaneswar today.
An FIR into the incident has been lodged at the Traffic police station by the victim cop. The entire episode of the assault was caught on the body-camera fitted on the dress of the traffic constable.
According to reports, when vehicular movement was at its peak in the afternoon today, a verbal duel ensued between the on-duty traffic cop and a man over a traffic-related issue near Ravi Talkies Square.
However, the situation became worse when the man called some of his associates and started manhandling the traffic cop. Later, the man took out his belt and assaulted the traffic personnel.
Surprisingly, the entire incident took place while many people were passing through the crowded road but no one intervened.

Meanwhile, the Traffic Police SP has assured action after an investigation into the case.
Police Commissioner, YB Khurania said, "The matter has not come to me yet. I will find out what is the exact case and appropriate action will be taken."
