Tiger scare haunts Damanjodi

Koraput: Fear gripped people in Nalco's  township at Damanjodi in Koraput district after some of them claimed to have seen a tiger moving in the Sector-3 area in the last couple of days.

Locals allege that the visuals of the animal roaming near the human settlement has also been captured in CCTV cameras installed by CISF at several points in the township.

Koraput ranger, Subhash Khuntia on the other hand stated that it has been confirmed that there is no reason to panic as the animal has been identified as hyena.

"After analysis of the video that is being circulated on social media, CCTV footage and collection of pug mark, the presence of hyena in the area has been established," said Khuntia.

Khuntia further informed that the forest department has laid a cage to trap the animal which will be subsequently taken away from the human settlement.
