Three minor girls drown in separate incidents in Odisha

Deogarh: In a tragic incident, three minor girls drown in separate incidents in Deogarh and Kalahandi districts today.

Two of the three deceased have been identified as  Seeta, daughter of Chhunaku Oram and Anjana, daughter of Siba Oram of Deogarh district.

According to sources, Seeta and Anjana, who happened to be relatives, of Singhasakha Village under Barkote police limits had gone to a nearby pond for bathing at around 1 pm. The duo later slipped into the water and drowned while taking bath in the pond. Later, the dead bodies were fished out from the water body by locals after an hour.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and have started investigation.

Similarly, a seven-year-old girl swept away by water current in the Left Canal of the Indravati Irrigation project at Jalatamunda village under Kokasara block in Kalahandi district.
