Cuttack: The district administration has made arrangements for nearly three lakh people to witness the ‘Air Show’ by Indian Air Force (IAF) scheduled to be held in the millennium city on December 23.

The 40-minute air show, to commemorate the birth centenary of legendry leader late Biju Patnaik will be performed at Khannagar Park, officials said.

“It’s a respect to Patnaik who was one of the best pilots of his time”, said Vishal Dev, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sports and Youth Service Department. IAF personnel will exhibit several daredevil acts including parachute dropping within radius of five km from Khannagar park over Kathajodi river bank.

As many as 100 pilots, 10 IAF officials of Surya Kiran Aerobatics, Saranga Aerobatics and Akash Ganga Aerobatics teams of IAF will participate in the daredevil show with 6 helicopters, 10 fighter aircraft.

The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the air show. The administration has also taken step for making live commentary.

On Sunday, Police Commissioner YB Khurania, DCP Sanjeev Arora and top officials of Cuttack district administration including Collector Nirmal Mishra visited the air show venue to inspect and supervise arrangements.
