Cuttack: The commissionerate police today arrested three persons from Jharkhand for their involvement in online fraud.

Police seized six mobile phones, a laptop and cash worth Rs 35,000 from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Dilshad Ansari, Soufiq Ansari and Yousuf Ansari.

Talking to media persons about the modus operandi of the arrested, Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora said they used to collect phone numbers of people and seek details of their bank accounts. Later they withdraw money from their accounts. Besides, they used the details for online shopping.

Arora said the Commissionerate police had begun investigation into the case following two complaints filed at Puri Ghat and Dargha Bazar police stations in 2015. In course of investigation, police traced the fraudsters after tracing their call records.
