Angul: Indramani Sahu pulled my hair and thrashed me and amid the scuffle his sons pushed me on the ground... one of them was trying to rip my shirt off and other was trying to take my pants off, said Odia actor Usasi Misra during a presser today in Bhubaneswar while recounting the horror of the Sunday night when she was assaulted in public prior to a Jatra show at Derang in Angul.

Usasi further alleged that Indramani and his sons threatened to rape and shoot her.

Demanding justice, Usasi rued no arrests have been made even after three days and also blamed the Jatra management for the assault on her.

"I want to question the general public, artistes, the owner of the Jatra company whom I am working with - Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik and the people with whom I went to perform that why there was no security for me and my other associates despite a huge gathering of over 12,000 people," Usasi said adding that she will not return to Jatra if she is not provided adequate security.

On the other hand, CEO of Eastern Media, Malay Mishra while responding to the actor's demand for security said, "We will discuss with her under what terms and conditions she will like to continue to work with us. We will hold discussions & seek security; still, if she leaves, it's up to her, but it will affect Jatra."

On Sunday night, Usasi was allegedly assaulted by three persons including Indramani Sahu while she was at Derang in Angul district to perform in a Jatra show.

Later after the incident, the actress lodged a complaint at Kaniha police station accusing Indramani and his two sons of manhandling her and other crew members. In the complaint she also accused that the locals damaged her vehicle.

"She had lodged a complaint against three to four persons and one among them has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Two teams under supervision of Pallahara SDPO are conducting raids at various places to nab the other accused," said Angul SP, Mitrabhanu Mahapatra.
