Tension erupts after group clash in Angul

Angul: Tension ran high at Hulirisingha area under Angul police limits here after two groups clashed with each over passing of comments.

According to sources, an altercation which had ensued between the residents of Hulirisingha and Ghasisahi few days ago, took a violent turn today following a group clash between the locals of the two villages in which several people were injured. Vehicular movement on Angul-Sambalpur Highway disrupted for some time due to the clash, sources added.

Being informed about the incident, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Police forces are deployed on the spot to ward off any untoward incident.

“Two groups of the villages had an altercation over passing of off comments. It took a violent turn as they clashed with each other. The situation is under control. There is nothing to panic,” said RM Deo, SDPO, Angul.
