Tension at Shyam Metalics plant after worker's death

Sambalpur: Tension erupted on the premises of Rengali-based Shyam Metalics factory when a worker died after falling off a blast furnace today.

Demanding adequate compensation for family of the deceased, identified as Gudu Kumar Sahani of Bihar, workers of the factory sat on dharna in front of the main gate.

They also asked the factory authorities to take steps to minimise accidents at the factory.

Sahani succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the Burla hospital for treatment.
