Puri: After Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Director General approved the stainless steel portal frames plan proposed by the Srimandir technical core committee for Jagamohan, working chairman of the committee Prof GC Mitra on Saturday reviewed the repair work progress at the hall facing the sanctum sanctorum of the Sri Jagannath temple.

Talking to newsmen after the work review along with core committee member NC Pal, Mitra stated, “Out of seven pocket frames, six have been completed while the remaining one is on the verge of completion. Besides, one confinement in two layers will be done in two days while the work for six others is over.”

Mitra assured the Jagamohan repair work will be completed in February.

Notably, the Works Department has already started tender process for the stainless steel portal frames plan estimated at Rs 3 crore 71 lakh 71 thousand.
