Teachers found boozing on school premises, Education dept begins probe

Jharsuguda: The Education department has formed a team to probe into the incident when Bhuliadihi school headmaster along with some teachers allegedly consumed alcohol on the school premises on Teacher’s Day.

Laikera additional Block Education Officer Janmejaya Naik on Friday informed that further action will be taken after receiving a report submitted by the team.

The headmaster of Bhuliadihi school had allegedly arranged the liquor party for some teachers at the school office on September 5. A video of the headmaster's act went viral on social media following which the Education officer ordered a probe.

Refuting the charges the headmaster stated, "As I had invited the teachers, I had offered soft drinks to them. Neither I drink alcohol nor encourage drinking on school premises."
