Teachers’ Day celebration costs student his life

Ganjam: Teachers’ day turned fatal for a class VI student who got killed after a school wall collapsed on him in Khallikote of Ganjam district on Tuesday.

The incident occurred today morning at Bania UGME School where the school students had gathered to celebrate Teachers’ Day.

Sources said some section of the school was under construction, and a tractor loaded with sand, while entering the school, lost balance and hit the wall following which the wall collapsed and fell on the student.

Critically injured, the student was rushed to the Khallikote Health Centre where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
