Bhubaneswar: Teachers under the banner of Block Grant Teachers' and Employees' Association on Friday threatened to hold demonstration in front of the State Assembly on September 22 protesting the state government’s move to introduce ‘Teach on Call’ system.

According to sources, as many as 32,000 teachers and employees of 2,208 schools across the state will stage a dharna in front of the Assembly protesting the government’s move.

The teachers’ body has also demanded fulfill its 10 point charter of demands which include government status to all aided schools, uniformity in the payment and provision of all the facilities of to block grant teachers which are being offered under mass education and secondary education systems, sources added.
