Sikshya Sahayak Chintamani Moharana was arrested on the basis of an FIR filed by the headmaster of the school, Subash Chandra Bisoi.

Meanwhile, District Education Officer (DEO) Sanatan Panda issued a show cause notice to Moharana for disengagement from the service, terming the incident as unfortunate.

The accused, allegedly beat two students while teaching mathematics as he was unhappy over the behaviour of the duo in the classroom, police said, adding the two students had reported against the teacher to the headmaster.

"When I asked about the incident, the teacher tried to stab me with a knife and abused a woman teacher of the school," said the headmaster.
