Keonjhar: Tatanagar - Barbil passenger train reportedly derailed near Nalda of Keonjhar district on Monday night. The train derailed nearly seven kilometres away from Barbil when it was on its way from Tatanagar in Jharkhand to Barbil.   train-derails

Immediately after the incident locals rushed to the spot and brought the passengers safely to Barbil. Even Barbil police came to rescue of the stranded passengers and arranged conveyance for them. No casualty has been reported so far.

While the reason behind the mishap is still unknown, police has launched an investigation.

Earlier this year in January, Hirakhand Express had gone off the rails in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district when it was travelling from Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh to Bhubaneswar. Massive life loss was reported in the accident.

In another accident Bhubaneswar-Bhadrak DMU train had rammed into a stationary goods train near Cuttack railway station in September last year.
