Bhubaneswar:  The Swine Flu outbreak has assumed an epidemic proportion in the state with two more persons succumbing to the H1N1 virus on Wednesday.

According to reports, one of the two affected persons died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, while another person died after being discharged from a private hospital in Cuttack.

With this, the total death toll due to the disease in the state rose to 23.

As many as 43 swab samples were sent for examination out of which 12 tested positive for the H1N1 virus, said official sources, adding that 259 people have been tested positive for the vector borne disease in the State so far.
