Bhubaneswar: Death toll due to swine flu reached nine when a woman patient succumbed to the disease at a Bhubaneswar-based private hospital on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Rama Behera (67), a resident of Khurda.

Out of 60 swab samples, 21 tested positive for swine flu.

Six samples in Sum Hospital tested positive for swine flu. On the other hand, in SCBMCH, Cuttack, Kar Clinic, AIIMS and AMRI two swab samples each tested positive for the vector borne disease.

In Kalinga hospital, three persons tested positive for swine flu.

One sample each in VIMSAR, KIIMS, Apollo Hospital and Hope Hospital tested positive for swine flu.

The number of the affected persons in the State has increased to 140 till date.
