Puri: After the 9-member team constituted to probe Puri Swargadwar (crematorium) land grab allegations submitted its preliminary report to the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) of central range, AB Ota, the latter is prepared to submit the report near the Odisha government.

As per the report, the team verified the land records of the past 90 years of the 16.735-acre land allotted in favour of the Swargadwar. Out of the 242 plots on the land, 158 have been found out to be in the name of different persons.

Moreover, Seventy seven plots standing on 4.684 acre land were found non-recorded. The RDC has instructed the Puri Tehsildar to record the 77 plots in name of Lord Jagannath. Probe on who sold the land and by want means is underway. Steps to reclaim the land has been outlined which will be submitted by the RDC to the government.

On the other hand hearing on the appeal of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), over the nectar food (amrut manohi) property of Lord Jagannath, is to be held on April 11. Puri Tehsildar has issued notice in this regard to the SJTA and public.
