Puri: The 9-member team constituted to probe Puri Swargadwar (crematorium) land grab allegations submitted its preliminary report to the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) of central range today.

According to sources, the team verified the land records of the past 90 years  of the 16.735-acre land allotted in favour of the Swargadwar. Out of the 242 plots on the land, 158 have been found out to be in the name of different persons. Moreover, the probe team has outlined the steps to reclaim the land in its report which will be submitted by the RDC to the government.

“There are 158 plots and 133 holdings which have been recorded in the name of individuals. The inquiry committee has also found out the plot-wise details of the land recorded in the name of individuals and have also examined the flow of title,” said Central Range RDC, AB Ota.
