Jeypore: A villager was killed on the suspicion of practising witchcraft in Bandhugaon of Koraput district.

The matter came to fore after wife of the deceased, Renda Bidika of Turugudi village lodged a police complaint alleging that her husband, Rameya was murdered and his dead body was burnt in Lungu village.

The complainant further stated she was thrashed by some villagers four days back which was when her husband went missing.

She said after one Barika Bidika, a resident of Lungu village, died of Tuberculosis, his family members blamed Rameya for the death alleging his involvement in black magic.

Meanwhile, Bandhugaon PS official DV Rao said police have lodged a case and started an investigation into the matter.
