Sambalpur: Allegations of surgical error came against a nursing home in Sambalpur town today. Family members of a woman claim her uterus was left half operated in the nursing home.

The woman had been admitted to the nursing home at Sambalpur medical road on Monday for operation of her uterus. During the operation, due to error in surgical procedure the uterus was not removed and the stomach was stitched back, alleged the woman's husband Sushant.

Talking to OTV, Sushant said, "The doctor called me after one hour and said, he has already tried but was unable to perform the operation. He had already started the operation without informing me and clarified that as the condition of the uterus is poor he cannot perform the operation."

Meanwhile, the woman is suffering from severe stomach ache.

On the other hand, doctor Rajaram Das, who performed the surgery, denied the allegation. He said as other internal organs were attached to the uterus it was difficult to cut it out at present but it can be operated after a gap of few months.

Das said, "We tried hard to operate the uterus but were only able to clear out cyst material from the right side ovary but were not able to lift the left side ovary. We stitched the stomach back properly and the patient is healthy. I have given a note that we were not able to pull out the uterus and it cannot be termed as a failure."
