Sunki Blast: Crime Branch arrests 1 Maoist

Koraput: The Crime Branch today arrested a hardcore maoist involved in land mine blasts near Sunki Ghat of Koraput district that killed eight police personnel and injured five others in February this year.

The arrested has been identified as Madabi Bandi of Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh.

The Pottangi police had registered case against five Maoists for their alleged involvement in the landmine blast and later handed over to the Crime Branch of Odisha.

The ghastly incident took place on February 2, 2017 on National Highway 26 at Mungabhumi village under Pottangi police station on the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border, when the personnel were travelling in a van to Cuttack for training.
