Bhubaneswar: Expressing deep concern over the fire mishap that took place at the Sum Hospital here claiming 19 lives on Monday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Union Health Minister J P Nadda and asked him to facilitate transfer of all those injured to the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

In his Tweet, he wrote “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives in the hospital fire in Odisha. The tragedy is mind-numbing. My thoughts are with bereaved families. Spoke to Minister @JPNadda & asked him to facilitate transfer of all those injured to AIIMS. Hope the injured recover quickly.”

The Prime Minister also spoke to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik about the hospital fire tragedy and assured him of all possible support from the Centre. Modi also directed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to ensure all possible help extended to the injured and affected persons.

On the other hand Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) level inquiry into tragic incident. Earlier, he visited the Capital Hospital here to see the treatment of evacuated patients from the hospital.

The CM announced that all the expenses for treatment of the injured persons would be to be borne by the State Government from the Cm Relief Fund. Patnaik also took to the Tweeter to express his condolence for the fire mishap victims. He wrote, “Visited Capital hospital to oversee treatment of evacuated patients from fire in private hospital in Bhubaneswar; condole loss of lives.”

“Spoke with PM @narendramodi, briefed about efforts towards treatment of injured. Senior Ministers, officials monitoring,” he tweeted.
