Sudarsan sets World Record by creating 1,000 Santa Claus in sand

Puri: Noted sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has set a new World Record by creating 1,000 Santa Claus in sand at the Puri beach on occasion of the Christmas, confirmed the Limca Book of Records today.

Pattnaik has broken the earlier world record set by him in 2012 when he created 500 sand Santa Clauses. Notably, he had scripted a history by creating 100 sand Santa Clauses in 2009.

Pattnaik created the 1,000 Santa Claus in sand with message 'Bring Happiness to the World' along with 35 of his students from the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute.

He worked on the sculpture for four days and created the record breaking sand art out of 1,000 tonnes of sand.

The sculpture is on exhibit till January 1.
