Sudarsan Pattnaik wins gold at Moscow sand art competition

Bhubaneswar/Moscow: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik of Puri won the Jury Prize Gold medal at the 10th World Sand Sculpture Championship Moscow 2017 today.

Pattnaik secured the gold for his sand sculpture of Lord Ganesh with message ‘Go Green’ at the Championship held between April 22nd and 28th at Kolomenskoye, Moscow in Russia.

The event’s chief organiser Pavel Menikov awarded the prize to Pattnaik in a ceremony in Kolomenskoye.

Pattnaik was representing India in the competition, where twenty five sculptors from around the globe participated. The theme for the international sand sculpture event was “The world around us".

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated Sudarsan Pattnaik in a tweet message for winning the gold at the Moscow Sand Sculptures Championship.
