Bhubaneswar/Rourkela/Berhampur: Amid sloganeering and rallies, filing of nominations by aspiring candidates for the students’ union elections concluded at different colleges and universities of Odisha today. However, sporadic instances of pre-poll violence led to declaration of sine die and cancellation of polls at a few colleges.

In Bhubaneswar, members of different students’ organizations took out rallies and raised slogans in support of their candidates while filing of nomination papers.

Nomination filing process at Utkal University was marked by heavy deployment of police force on the premises owing to unrest in the past few days.

Nomination filing was a peaceful affair at other colleges of the twin city.

In Rourkela, nomination papers were filed by aspirants of 10 colleges.
