Bhubaneswar: After targeting the Centre over rice quota under NFSA, the ruling BJD has again trained its guns on the Central government - this time over drought assistance.
The ruling party staged demonstrations in the capital city on Monday protesting the decrease in central assistance and delay in release of drought assistance. Moreover, the ruling party members also met the Governor and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President.
According to BJD sources, while the Centre had announced Rs 2344.99 crore assistance to deal with the drought aftermath, only Rs 600.52 crore had been released.
