Bhubaneswar: The panchayati Raj department is organising a mega women rally at the Exhibition Ground here today. Around 20000 women from across the State are scheduled to attend the big event. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik will address the gathering about their empowerment.

The panchayati Raj department earlier written to all Road Transport officers to make necessary arrangments for their smooth travel to the Capital city.

The rally aimed at empowering the rural women, Panchayati Raj minister Arun Sahoo said.

"Biju Birth Centenary and 80 years of formation of Odisha pradesh. This is auspicious moment. Odisha is moving forward with new dreams and expectation. The chief minister has aimed at building the State as most developed by 2036. The women number is half of the total population. Thier contribution to economy, society and other sectors would make a developed stated. The rally's aim is to empower the women", Sahoo said.
