Bhubaneswar: The state unit of the BJP celebrated the 38th foundation day of the party in a grand way here today with members gearing up for its two-day national executive meeting scheduled next week.

State party chief Basant Panda flagged off the celebrations by hoisting the party flag here at the State headquarters office. Victory celebration in view of the party’s good show during recently concluded polls is being held at all the 36,000 booths across the state, party sources said.

Speaking to mediapersons, Panda thanked people of the state for the success in the rural polls.  ‘’Our strategy is based on our welfare measures taken under the good governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We hope that our party will take the state forward towards development and we are taking revolutionary measures to achieve it,’’ he said.

As part of the programme, party's offices at district, block, panchayat levels have been asked to hoist flags and activists at the grassroots called upon to participate and initiate preparations for the 2019 general elections.

Speaking to mediapersons, party’s General Secretary Bhrugu Buxipatra  spoke about the importance of the foundation day, developmental agenda of the government under the administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, development at the grassroots level and creating awareness about history of the party.

Bhumi Puja for the upcoming two-day National Executive meeting was also done at Janata Maidan.
