Staff quarters’ roof collapse: BJP blocks NH in Nuapada

Nuapada: Demanding a high-level probe into the collapse of the roof of an under-construction staff quarters’ at Sahajat Sevashram here, BJP activists blocked the NH-353  near Tarbod village in the district today.

Vehicular movement on the road was disrupted due to the protest. Several vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road. Attributing the mishap to poor quality construction work, the BJP demanded stern action against persons responsible for the incident.

Meanwhile, police forces were deployed to avert any kind of eventuality during the protest. However, no concerned officials had reached the spot for a discussion till last reports came in.

On Saturday, the roof of the staff quarters of the Sahajat residential school collapsed, though no casualty was reported in the incident.
