Bhubaneswar: While praising the steps taken by Bhubaneswar to evolve itself as a smart city, the South African government has shown keen interest in sharing learning programmes with the city by tying up with the state government for some important projects especially on the urban development front.

South Africa High Commissioner to India, Fracne Murole who is on a 3- day visit to Odisha indicated that South Africa is going to announce one of its leading cities as Sister City with Bhubaneswar.

During an interactive session with officials of the Odisha government, Murole highlighted his homeland's successful urban development projects and also urged Odisha to come forward for this exciting new collaboration.

Murole appreciated various welfare projects and several initiatives related to timely delivery of services and public utility development undertaken by the Bhubaneswar city administration.

The High Commissioner further stated that South Africa is also keen on manpower exchange with Bhubaneswar so that officers and public representatives can learn from each other, which would help in bringing valuable additions.
