Bhubaneswar: Putting an end to speculations, Ama Odisha Party president Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and founder of KIIT and KISS Achyuta Samanta today joined BJD in presence of party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence Naveen Niwas.
Speculations related to Soumya Ranjan, the Editor of Odia daily ‘Sambad’ were rife after he recently met CM Naveen in Delhi
Speaking to the media, Soumya Ranjan said, "I have not set any terms and conditions before joining the BJD. He further said that he will continue his protest against chit fund scam and work for farmers.
Similarly, Achyuta Samanta said he joined BJD because of the social development works and the good governance of Naveen Patnaik.
On the joining of Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Achyuta Samanta, CM Naveen Patnaik said that they will proved to be tremendous asset to the party.
"Congress humiliated Soumya Ranjan Patnaik even though he was working dedicatedly for the party. I can't say whether he will be an asset for BJD or not but he is certainly an asset for Odisha, former OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik said.
Meanwhile, the BJD will name its candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections today at 5PM. Both Soumya Ranjan and Samanta are expected to be considered for candidature.
