Sniffer dog injured in landmine blast

Rayagada: A sniffer dog  was injured in a landmine explosion at Hatamunigida in the district on Thursday.

According to sources, the incident took place when Muniguda police and along with the dog squad are carrying out a search operation in the area.

Police seized landmine and Maoist posters during the search operation, sources added.

Notably, Maoists have called for a bandh today in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telengana and Maharashtra protesting against the joint operations of the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh Police in the cut-off areas of Malkangiri district on October 24 in which 30 naxals were killed.
