Snatching gang busted in capital city, 8 including 5 minors held

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today busted a snatching gang and arrested eight members including five minor boys.

The arrested have been identified as Dinesh Kumar alias Ganesh, Pintan Kumar Dalai, Bimal Kumar Ranshingh alias Chandan, Amit Kumar Das, Nitish Das, Malinka Digal, Soumya Behera and Jiban Kumar Jena.

Acting on a tip-off, Kharavela Nagar police nabbed the eight members of the gang today and seized four bikes and 50 mobile phones from their possession.

Of the eight arrested gang members, Pintan is an engineering student while Jiban is a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 in Satyanagar area of the city and Nitish is a student of ITI at Khapuria in Cuttack.

Notably, police was on the lookout of the gang following a series of snatching cases in the city.
