Smart City Shame: Woman misbehaved, husband beaten up

Bhubaneswar: In an incident that speaks volumes about poor security measures in the Capital city, a woman was allegedly misbehaved in front of her husband by a group of miscreants at Siripur here on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred at around 11:30 pm last night when the couple was returning home in their car after attending a function.

Three motorcycle borne miscreants allegedly passed lewd comments on the woman and when her husband tried to protest, he was beaten up. The couple’s car was ransacked.

“The youth followed us and just near our house they started to pass comments and misbehaved with me. When my husband opposed, they beat him up,” said the victim.

Following the incident, Khandagari police have arrested the prime accused basing on the CCTV footage and complaint filed by the family of the victim.

DCP Satyabrat Bhoi informed that efforts are on to nab other accused involved in the incident.
