Bhubaneswar: A smart solution to assist citizens in their day-to-day monetary transactions is on the cards for Smart City Bhubaneswar.

A meeting of the Empowered Committee on Infrastructure (ECI) was chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi today to introduce a smart card which will not only help citizens of Bhubaneswar to book bus and train tickets but also shop at retail outlets.

While 325 POS machines will be installed across the Capital city for the smart card, ICICI Bank has been selected through a tender process to prepare the cards, informed sources.

Moreover, discussions were also held on the G+3 Housing project at Phulnakhara and Mahavir Awas Yojana project near Sainik School, Bhubaneswar.

Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan, Principal Secretary of Tourism department Mona Sharma, Principal Secretary of Industries department Sanjiv Chopra, Works department Secretary Nalinikanta Pradhan and BDA vice-chairman Krishan Kumar among others were present in the meeting.
